We’ve completely rebuilt your app from the ground up, which you’ll see when you update to the latest version. We’ve kept all the functionality you usually use, and added an improved interface, plus extra content and features. We’re also planning more improvements in future versions of the app, and would love your help in shaping it. To tell us what you think of the new app and what you’d like to see, visit the Settings section of the updated app and select Provide Feedback under Support.
Why have I been logged out?
When you updated to the new version you may have been logged out of the app. To regain access, please login again with via your magazine account.
How do I subscribe and view my magazines?
You are able to undertake subscriptions of differing durations, and, subject to availability, a trial subscription by tapping the subscribe button from the Magazines heading in the bottom bar menu, as well as a view a short Preview of any magazine you’re interested in purchasing.
Depending on your purchase, you’ll then be prompted to Sign In, or Sign Up if you’ve not yet created an account. You can also Sign Up separately, pre-purchase, by tapping the Account button from the top-right corner of the Home screen, then navigating to Log in, then Sign Up.
From the Magazine screen, you’ll also be able to see the Latest Issue, as well as full listings of all standard and special editions, including a filter tab by the current year only. Note that if you are a returning subscriber with one-off purchases, you can view a notice that will assist you with restoring any older purchases.
Terms & Conditions for the Free Trial, Auto-Renewal Policy, and Accessibility guidelines are included, or available separately via the links below:
I’ve purchased content, but I can’t see my issues – how can I access them?
If you have issue content including current or prior subscriptions, or have purchased one-off standard issues or special editions, but can’t seem to regain access, simply navigate to Account section of the app via the icon in the top-right corner of the Home screen.
From here, you can navigate to Restore Purchases. Assuming you’re logged in (and you’ll be presented with a login screen if you’re not), you will then be prompted to restore purchases, which will re-enable your entitlements and allow you to read your back issues at your leisure.
Why can’t I access my purchases?
As part of updating you to the new version we need to reverify purchases and entitlements. If you can’t access content you’ve paid for, please restore your purchases, or try logging out and in again. If you’re still having issues, please check you have a valid subscription or purchase and contact our support team.
How do I login and what happens if I can’t remember my password?
You can login via the Account menu at any time, located in the icon in the top-right corner of the Home screen, and then tap Log in. Logins are persistent, so you won’t need to login again once you’ve logged in once.
If you’re unsure what your password is, you can generate a new one at any time by tapping the Log in screen, then tapping the Don’t remember your password? button and entering your associated email address, and can then choose your new password.
How can I view my Terms and conditions?
To view your Terms and conditions, as well as a range of other useful information including our Privacy policy and how to contact support, simply navigate to the Account section via the icon in the top-right corner of the Home screen, then scroll to the button and view the relevant section from Legal & Support.
I’m having technical issues accessing my subscription or reading my issues – where can I get help?
Don’t worry! If you’re having problems accessing your content, including one-off purchases and special editions, or are experiencing any technical issues relating to viewing, audio, or video within your magazine, you can contact us at any time for further assistance.
To do so, simply navigate to Account via the icon in the top-right corner of the Home screen, then scroll down to the Legal & Support section.
From here, you can tap Contact support – this will open a contact support form which will automatically populate with your device details, allowing our support teams to get a better idea of the model and operating system you’re running on your device. There will also be a blank text box at the top of the screen – simply type in a short message explaining the issue you’re facing, along with any relevant details and screenshots (which you can paste in from your device’s gallery if preferred), and press the blue Send arrow at the top-right of the screen.
Once received, our teams will aim to respond to your query as swiftly as possible via return email to your email address.
I’d like to save a particular issue I’ve found really interesting or useful – can I do this?
You can! Simply tap Save on the issue in question via the taskbar from your magazine, and it’ll be added to the Saved List section of the Home screen.
When does my subscription commence?
All new subscriptions begin from the most recently released issue, so the current issue will be available to read immediately. Further issues released within your subscription period will become available as they’re released. Note that the date of release for your magazine can vary a little, so don’t worry if it isn’t available at precisely the same date or time each month!
It’s important to note that subscriptions exclude Specials unless otherwise specified. Specials are one-off issues, including handbooks, guides, and manuals, that are not included as part of your standard issue subscription. Issues released prior to the most recent released issues will also not be covered, but are available to purchase singly.
I’m a new subscriber – how will I know when my new issues are released?
Don’t worry – so long as you’ve agreed to allow Notifications (you’re able to switch these on and off via the Settings function of your phone), you’ll receive a Push notification from us whenever your new issues are available.
What are the minimum hardware/software requirements?
Our app is designed to run on a range of platforms and operating system iterations, including, where possible, older software and hardware. For a full list of supported operating systems for both Apple and Android, please see the list below.
If you are running a device that supports operating systems older than these, please note that while the app may still run, we cannot guarantee full functionality, and the app may be rendered unusable by future OS updates, as per our terms and conditions.
Apple
iOS 15.6 or later, which will function on any device capable of running iOS 15, e.g.
iPhone 6s/SE (1st gen) and newer
iPad supported (universal app), iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad (5th gen), iPad Pro and newer
iPod touch (7th gen)
Android
Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later (API 24)
Built against Android 16 (API 36)
Supports both 64-bit and older 32-bit ARM devices, including x86 (Chromebooks/emulators may function but are formally unsupported).
Please allow at minimum 200 MB free storage space for the app plus cached content. Please also be aware that issue packages can take up significant space when downloaded in bulk, and as such, it may be advisable to archive any issues you’re not currently reading to keep storage space low.
When my subscription expires, will I be able to keep my issues?
Apple purchases: any magazine issues and special editions that were released during your subscription period, or you’ve purchased singly via an in-app purchase, will be available for you to re-download whenever you want to, even after your subscription ends. Please note that you’ll need to be signed in to your device with the Apple ID used to make your purchases, as all entitlements are linked solely to a single Apple ID.
Magazines Direct purchases: if you subscribed via Magazines Direct, please refer to the Terms and conditions related to your specific subscription, as in some instances you will need to hold an active subscription to be able to read the issues.
If you’re using a new or alternative device and logged in with a different Apple ID or Magazines Direct account, you’ll need to sign out and back in to your original account in order to access your existing entitlements.
How can I renew or cancel my subscription?
Checking or amending your subscriptions is quick and easy, and can be altered on the fly from your device’s Settings panel, as with any other subscription.
