We are Future Publishing Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 2008885). Our registered address is Quay House, The Ambury, Bath, BA1 1UA, United Kingdom.
What These Terms Cover
These terms apply to any prize draw, prize competition, or prize giveaway (we’ll call these “Promotions”) that is run by us, our group companies or any third party on our behalf. When you enter a Promotion, you’re agreeing to these terms.
WHO CAN ENTER
Who can enter a Promotion
Unless otherwise specified, participation in our Promotions is open to residents of the UK and the US who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Due to local regulations, certain regional exclusions apply: residents of Puerto Rico (a US territory) are excluded; residents of New York are excluded from entering any Promotion with a prize value exceeding $5,000; residents of Rhode Island are excluded from entering any Promotion which is not conducted online; residents of Florida are excluded from any Promotion which is not free to enter.
Some Promotions may only be available to our subscribers or members. If this is the case, you must have an active subscription or membership at the time of entry and at the time winners are selected. If your subscription or membership expires or is terminated, any pending entries will be forfeited and we may select another winner.
You can’t enter if you are:
- an employee of Future Publishing Limited or its group,
- an employee of the prize sponsor or provider or anyone involved in administering the Promotion, or
- a family member of any of the above.
Our group companies are the other businesses in the Future family – companies we own, companies that own us, and companies owned by the same parent. You can find further details on our corporate site.
We may ask for proof of age, identity, or address before giving you a prize. If you cannot provide this, we may pick an alternative winner.
How to enter
Each Promotion’s specific rules will explain the entry method, eligibility requirements and the corresponding closing date.
Unless stated otherwise, all entries must be made personally. You must not use any AI tool, automation, bot, or other technology to create or submit your entry, including AI-generated content (written, image, video) or agentic AI tools. Entries reasonably believed to be created or submitted using AI or automated means will be disqualified, and an alternative winner will be selected.
Postal entries must include your name, email, and postal address and be sent to the address in the Promotion rules. Proof of posting is not proof of delivery. Entries must be received by the closing date. Late, incomplete, or corrupted entries may be disqualified. We are not responsible for lost or delayed entries. Unless otherwise stated, only one entry per person is permitted per Promotion.
PRIZES AND PROMOTION DETAILS
We’ll award the advertised prize or a substitute of equal or greater value. If you win, prizes are personal to you as the winner — they cannot be transferred to someone else, exchanged at your request, or returned for a refund. You cannot demand a cash equivalent in place of any prize. However, we reserve the right to substitute any prize with a cash payment or an alternative of equal or greater value at our discretion. Full details of the prizes available for each Promotion will be set out in that Promotion’s specific rules.
SELECTING AND NOTIFYING WINNERS
How we select winners
For prize draws (based on chance), we use a computer system that randomly selects winners. Everyone has an equal chance of winning, whether you paid to enter or not.
For competitions (based on skill or knowledge), we will use independent judges and clearly explain the judging criteria in the specific Promotion’s rules. All judges’ decisions are final.
How we will notify you if you win
We will contact winners by email within 14 days of the closing date. You’ll usually need to confirm that you want your prize within 14 days (or the time frame we specify). If you do not respond or we can’t reach you, we may pick another winner. We’ll send prizes within 30 days of you accepting, unless the specific Promotion rules state otherwise.
No purchase needed
You don’t need to purchase anything to enter or win and making a purchase won’t improve your chances of winning. Both free and paid entry routes offer equal chances of winning.
Additional requirements for US residents
If you are a resident of the US, you’ll need to complete and return some paperwork (including eligibility and liability forms) within 14 days of being notified as a winner (or such other timeframe as we specify). For prizes worth $2,000 or more, we will report this to the IRS and you may owe taxes. If you don’t return the paperwork within the required timeframe, we will select another winner.
Announcing winners
We will publish or make available a list of winners (surname and county/state) for each Promotion. This information will be available on request for at least six months after the closing date of the Promotion. You may object to your details being published by letting us know at the time of entry, however we may still provide your details to certain regulatory bodies if required.
YOUR CONTENT AND RIGHTS
If you submit content (like photos, videos, or written entries), you confirm that it’s your original work and doesn’t infringe anyone else’s rights. You give us permission to use it for the Promotion and related marketing, and we can publish it on our website and social media. You give us (and others we work with, like partners and social media platforms) the right to store, use, share, and publish your content in any format, and to adapt and create new works from that content. You agree that no payment will be owed to you. Subject to those permissions, you keep ownership of your content. We will keep all entries after the Promotion closes and are unable to return them, including any physical postal entries. Please do not send us original or irreplaceable items.
We may also ask you to provide a photo or testimonial as part of any related marketing, but this is optional.

OUR LIABILITY
Once we have sent your prize, the risk of it being lost or damaged in transit passes to you. You must follow any laws that apply to receiving or using the prize where you live. We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury that results from how you use your prize, unless it was caused by our negligence. We are always responsible for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
We run our Promotions with reasonable care and skill. However, we cannot guarantee that Promotions will always be free from errors or interruptions. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you entered, or for losses that are not caused by any fault on our part. Our total responsibility to you in connection with any Promotion will not exceed the value of the prize in that Promotion. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, and nothing limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of England and Wales or any other applicable law.
If you are a winner and you are a resident of the United States, you agree to release us from any claims related to the Promotion or prize, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
CHANGES TO PROMOTIONS
We can change a Promotion and these terms
We can update these terms at any time to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including while a Promotion is running.
We will only make other changes to a Promotion after it has opened in exceptional circumstances. If we do need to make changes, we will let you know (for example, on our website) and we will make sure that no one who entered under the original terms is left worse off as a result.
Suspending or withdrawing a Promotion
We may cancel, suspend, or modify a Promotion if circumstances beyond our control require it, or if we believe the Promotion’s integrity has been compromised. We can also disqualify anyone who breaks these terms or acts inappropriately.
DISPUTES
Our complaints policy
You have several options for resolving disputes with us. Our customer service team will do their best to resolve any problems you have with us or any of our Promotions. Their contact details are below.
You can go to court
UK residents: these terms are governed by English law. You can bring claims in the English courts or in the courts of Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland if you live there.
US residents: these terms are governed by New York law (except arbitration, which is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act). If you opt out of arbitration, you can bring claims in the New York courts.
U.S. Residents: Arbitration
IMPORTANT: Please read this section carefully as it affects your legal rights. This section requires arbitration for dispute instead of court trials or class actions.
Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration, however we can seek court orders to protect our intellectual property rights.
Before starting arbitration, you must send us written notice to [email protected] arbitration with your name, address, email, a description of the dispute, what you want, and your signature. We will try to resolve your concerns informally for 60 days.
If we can’t resolve it, the dispute will be referred to binding arbitration with National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) under their rules. A single arbitrator will decide everything, including whether this arbitration agreement is valid. Arbitration will be remote (by phone or video) unless we agree otherwise.
You and we agree that each party may only bring disputes individually, not as class actions or on behalf of others. If the class action waiver is invalid, this entire arbitration agreement is void. Otherwise, if any part is invalid, the rest still applies.
This arbitration agreement is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
Opt-out: you can opt out of arbitration by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of your first entry. Include your name, address, email, a statement that you are opting out, and your signature.
OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS
We can transfer our contract with you, so that a different organisation is responsible for supplying your prize. You can only transfer your contract with us to someone else if we agree to this. This contract is personal to you and no other party has rights to enforce it.
If part of this contract is invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t immediately enforce something, we can still enforce it later.

If we run a Promotion on social media (like Facebook, Instagram, X, or TikTok) it is not sponsored, endorsed or run by those platforms. They are not associated with it and you are giving your information to us, not them.
